아라미르 드론 프로젝트의 컨셉을 소개하는 첫번째 포스팅입니다.

소개하기에 앞서 기존의 드론에 대해 먼저 얘기해볼까요?

This is the first posting about the concept of Aramir Drone Project.

Before introducing the concept, let's talk about existing drones.

(저는 드론하면 가장 먼저 생각났던 게 저그의 드론이었는데요.)

(First I thought the drone of the game, Starcraft zerg.)

드론에 대해 관심이 있거나, 기계 DIY 등을 좋아하시는 분들이라면 한번쯤 찾아보셨을 드론의 형태는 아래와 같습

니다.

If you are interested in drones or DIY, you might already know about these.

흔히 쿼드콥터라고들 합니다. 쿼드콥터는 쿼드와 헬리콥터의 합성어 같네요. 날개가 4개 달린, 이렇게 생긴 비행체를 말합니다. 

We call it, Quadcopter. Air drones with 4 propellers. 

날개가 꼭 4개일 필요는 없죠. 이렇게 더 많은 프로펠러를 가진 드론도 있습니다. 일반적으로 프로펠러는 추력과 관련이 있기 때문에 많을 수록 큰 추력을 얻어낸다고 볼 수 있겠습니다.

Propellers can be more than 4, like this figure. Normally, the number of propellers are related with thrust forces, so more props, more thrust forces.

그렇다면 아라미르 드론은 어떻게 생겼을까요?

Then how about Aramir Drone?

현재로서는 전형적인 쿼드콥터의 형태로 계획하고 있습니다. 공중을 날아다니는 데는 현재 오픈 소스도 많기 때문에 큰 어려움 없이 진행하는 것을 목표로 하고 있습니다.

Currently, it will be Quadcopter. We have plenty of open sources so we expect to complete the designing process without any obstacles.

문제는 아라미르의 경우, 잠수가 가능해야 한다는 점입니다.

The problem is, Aramir has to be able to swim under water.

공기 중에서는 각종 전파가 잘 통해지지만, 물 속에서는 방해 입자들이 많아 기존에 사용하던 전파 방식에 한계가 있습니다. 새로운 전파 방식을 구현해내는 것은 너무 고급 기술이라는 판단하에, 우리는 다소 원시적이지만 쉽게 구현 가능한 방법을 택하기로 하였습니다.

Radio wave can be easily spread out in the air, but not underwater. Since realizing new type of radio wave underwater is too difficult, we decided to use same type of that of air drone but also that can be applied underwater. 

잠수 시, 전파를 송수신할 수 있는 부분만을 따로 물 위에 띄우고 나머지는 잠수하는 것인데요.

When going underwater, leave the part that contains receiver and transmitter.

이런 기초적인 컨셉을 가지고 드론과 잠수 파트를 각각 설계해볼 생각입니다.

With this basic concept, we are going to shape it up.

우리의 목표는 간단한 방법을 통해 이를 구현하는 데 있습니다.

Our goal is to realize this with easy technology.

최종적으로는 DIY를 통한 보편성 확대와 고급 기술력 탑재를 통한 고급 드론을 완성시키는 데 있습니다.

In the end, we are going to extend universality with realizing DIY, and making super drone with high technology.

우리는 곧 졸업을 앞둔 연세대학교 기계공학과 학생들입니다. (차모씨 석모씨 정모씨)

졸업하기 전, 뭔가 재미있는 프로젝트를 할 수 없을까를 찾던 도중 저희는 요즘 대세인 드론을 만들어보기로 했습니다. 

We are, will graduate students in Yonsei University, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. (Cha Seok Jung)

Before graduate, we wanted to make something fun and decided to make a drone.

아라미르 프로젝트는 신개념 드론을 만드는 것입니다. 비행기에만 국한되었던 하늘이라는 공간이, 드론을 통해 일반인들에게도 열린 공간으로 변해가고 있습니다. 그 만큼 다양한 시도들이 행해지고 있고, 우리 아라미르는 누구나 쉽게 이용가능한 기술을 통해 새로운 드론을 선보이려고 합니다.

Aramir project is making new kind of drone. The sky, which was the space only for planes, is becoming an open space for all people by using drones. So we are going to make a new drone by easy technology.
